At KIS we believe that school sports are education-based programs that complete the academic work during the school day. Student-athletes are given the opportunity to participate in programs that develop the whole person and build a lifelong interest in sports and fitness.
KIS has worked to build programs that safely allow as many children as possible to compete whether they are experienced or at a beginner level. We continually strive to create enough teams to allow all athletes committed to practices to have the opportunity to play. We utilize our facilities to ensure that all teams get the chance to participate in games and, when possible, tournaments at levels that match their abilities.
KIS offers several levels of sports teams that represent our school at events ranging from festivals to high-end competitions and tournaments. From U9 to Varsity teams, students have the opportunity to develop their growing talents through a variety of sports that foster commitment, structure, and independence. Players focus on self-improvement, developing social skills, cooperation, teamwork, and leadership.
Our coaching team understands and strives to instill to all members of our community that learning is more important than winning. They see themselves as teachers of students more than the coach of a sport. The ideals of sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and a demonstration of respect for the efforts of team members, opponents, coaches, and officials are promoted as program goals.
Throughout the year our students compete against other international schools in Bangkok in basketball, volleyball, soccer, badminton, and swimming. KIS is proud to host competitions, festivals, and events for all age levels.
